Critical Thinking
Socrates was the father of critical thinking, a superpower anyone can have! Cut through the
noise, make smarter decisions, and avoid getting tricked by misinformation or hype. Critical
thinking clears the fog to see the correct answers and make better choices. Keep it simple
with these 3 steps to learn critical thinking.
Happy relationships
Maybe not what you expect to read about happy relationships. No sugar and honey, no
compromises that only work until the next conflict. Instead, let’s talk about three
uncompromising fundamentals: mutual respect, morality, and jealousy. First and foremost,
you must communicate clearly and without reserve.
Take risks
Taking risks takes you out of your comfort zone. Your comfort zone is like a bubble where you
feel safe from the outside world, but keeps you from learning new things. When you take risks,
you are taking steps out of your bubble, and every step builds your self-confidence to take
another step.
Communication
Communication is a two-way street, sending and receiving messages. Good communication is not
only about the words, but mostly about what is being said, and what is being left out! And
the acknowledgment to confirm that the message is understood, or that a clarification is needed.
False knowledge
False knowledge is not fake news; it is much worse. It is embedded in our beliefs as
we learned it from a trusted source that we would not, or could not, challenge to prove
that knowledge.
Shy no more
Shyness is a perception, not a physical handicap; you can leave it behind you and move
on with your life. Instead of the usual advice, because you probably already tried
the "start small" and never got past that point, let’s change the way you think about
your shyness.
Body confidence
Body confidence is when you can look at yourself in the mirror and say: "I am good!". Better
yet, when you no longer need to look in the mirror to reaffirm yourself. Body confidence is
loving and accepting yourself. Recognizing your flaws and imperfections without feeling shy
or uneasy about them.
Healthy intimacy
There are six dimensions of intimacy. You most likely already have one or more dimensions of
intimacy with whom you seek more intimacy, as that intimacy is what draws you together.
There is no order of importance; every relationship has its own unique needs and dimensions.
But all require three keys to succeed: communication, connection, and engagement.
Online dating lottery
Dating sites are like playing the lottery. Everybody wants to win the grand prize,
but when you say "only serious relationships" or "only real love", you are saying
"I only want the grand prize". And, looking at your profile, they are thinking,
"I am the grand prize" because that is what you said you want. Of course, they cannot
all be the grand prize, and even if there is one, there is no way to know which one it may be.
How to tame your AI
AI is like a friend trying to become your protector ... and master. Your AI makes you feel
good, boosts your self-esteem, and gradually becomes a trusted friend to listen to ... the
only friend to listen to, the master. You think that's overkill? Think again about the tone
and words used in a reply to questions leading to emotional or open-ended answers.

Airline food is looking better!
Denigrated, ridiculed, yet eagerly anticipated! Airline food is a paradox of expectations,
where one looks forward to a meal that one would never consider in a restaurant. It is a
popular subject: Google "Airline food" and you get thousands of results! There are dedicated
websites showing hundreds of meal pictures sorted out by airline, class of service, special
meals and even historical with meal pictures from the 50's and 60's (makes you appreciate
today's offering!).
How to avoid tourist restaurants!
There is a world of difference between "tourist" restaurants and restaurants catering
to tourists. That difference is often lost on review sites like TripAdvisor where the
common tourist critic "This is a tourist restaurant ..." immediately sets a negative
view of the restaurant and makes you click to the next choice. I wish it were that simple!
Dreaming of a resort vacation?
It is easy to overlook the obvious when browsing through wonderful presentations of
enticing destinations. Searching for a resort is unlike that of searching for a hotel, as
you will be spending most of your time within the resort. So, facilities, amenities, and
services are more important than location. After you have looked at the pretty pictures
and read the glorious descriptions, get down to business, go through your checklist of
expectations and minimum requirements, and consider the following five points:
Comfortable Barcelona airport
I love Barcelona's airport; Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, named in 2019,
in honor of the first president of the Generalitat of Catalonia in exile. The first
thing you notice coming off the plane is the big, bright, and airy space. Even on a busy
time of the day, it never feels crowded or oppressive.
